Welcome to the homepage of Seward County Community College Office of Student Financial Aid. Our purpose is to assist our student body in attaining their educational goals through financial assistance. We understand that for many the cost of higher learning is the main obstacle to overcome in order to further their education. That is where we come in, we are happy to assist you in discovering and utilizing the numerous resources available to fund your education. Explore our site and feel free to contact us with your questions at email@example.com or 620-417-1110.
You're not alone when it comes to student loans. SCCC has partnered with Inceptia, a division of National Student Loan Program (NSLP), to provide you with FREE assistance on your Federal student loan obligations to ensure successful, and comfortable, loan repayment. Inceptia's friendly customer representatives may reach out to you during your grace period to answer questions you have about your loan obligation and/or repayment options. They may also contact you if your loan(s) become delinquent. Inceptia is not a collection agency. We've partnered with them to help you explore a wide variety of possibilities such as alternative repayment plans, deferment, consolidation, discharge, forgiveness, and forbearance options. Inceptia will stay in touch with you via phone calls, letters, and/or emails to help you find answers to your questions and solutions to your issues.
One of our goals in the Financial Aid Office is to help our students understand how to spend, save, and invest money wisely. We want to encourage everyone to look at a website that Inceptia has given us access to, called Financial Avenue. (See link at the bottom of the page) This website has financial literacy courses, articles, and videos to help students better understand how to manage their money. If you have not set up an account on Financial Avenue and have trouble doing so, please call Shannon at 620-417-1113.
Scholarship and Grant applications are now available in our office for this next academic year. You must fill one out if you are planning to be a student this coming fall semester. Don't delay as scholarships are awarded on a first come, first served basis. Priority deadline is April 1st.
Summer enrollment will open up Monday, April 3rd. If you are planning to take classes and would like to receive financial aid, you must let us know. Forms will be available for you to fill out in our office the day enrollment opens.
IF YOU THINK YOU NEED TO DROP ANY CLASSES DURING THE SEMESTER, PLEASE FIRST CHECK WITH YOUR ACADEMIC ADVISOR AND THEN CHECK WITH OUR OFFICE TO SEE HOW THIS MIGHT AFFECT YOUR FINANCIAL AID.
In the academic year of 2016-2017, students wanting to take out a student loan must first be awarded a student loan. This is done through completing a 2016-2017 FAFSA to determine how much you may be eligible to receive; and our office checking your academic eligibility. When you are notified of your financial aid awards, a Loan Acceptance Form will be mailed to you. The form needs to be turned in to the Office of Financial Aid in person before the loan will be processed. If you have lost yours, click here to print the form. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact our office at 620-417-1110. PLEASE NOTE: SCCC does not certify outside loans.
