Seward County Community College is a two-year institution offering 45 programs of study, including Adult Education, certificate programs and Associate of Arts, Science, General Studies and Applied Sciences degrees. Ranked in the top 5% of more than 1,100 accredited community colleges in the U.S. by the Aspen Institute, SCCC serves a student body of 2,500+ students ranging in age from 15 to 85, in a county with the highest foreign-born percentage population in the U.S., and a rural service area of about 50,997 in seven Southwest Kansas counties as well as neighboring counties in southeastern Colorado, the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree required. Experience up to six months of similar or related experience preferred.
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for communicating and leading transfer guide and transfer guide and transfer articulation creation, organization, and communication. This position is involved in the leadership and collaboration of a range of student services including but not limited to recruiting, training, and coordinating a peer tutoring student staff, academic advising, career advising, and instructing a First-Year Seminar Course. This position will provide general training and campus programming as needed.
Essential Functions
Attendance is required to provides advising, career advising, assistance and guidance services to students.
Coordinates a campus-wide academic support (tutor) program.
Assists with programming and retention initiatives for the college which includes one (1) credit of First-Year Seminar instruction per year.
Develops and maintains transfer and articulation agreements. Provides leadership in educating academic advisors on transfer processes and resources.
