Provides clinical instruction and supervision to students in a controlled hospital and/or laboratory setting. Includes the grading of nursing care plans and clinical papers, making assignments, some laboratory skills instruction and occasional meetings.


Associates degree to Technical Certificate, current Kansas RN licensed, BLS and CPR certifications required. BSN or MSN preferred or willing to work towards the degree.

Minimum of two to three years clinical experience preferred. Previous teaching instruction in community college or secondary education a plus.

Essential Functions

  • Instruction in the course and evaluation of student performance in accordance with student learning outcomes as stated in the course syllabus; maximum use of required texts and materials as directed by Division Chair or Lead Instructor; and prepares course syllabi (if not provided by the department).
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and grading of students, submits reports timely; promptly enters mid-term and final grades as required.
  • Attends adjunct in-service each semester.

Selection Process
