Responsibilities

To provide front office assistance to customers in the matters of financial aid, student records, EduKan courses, and general office support.

Qualifications

 Two years to five years of similar or related experience. Education (1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares outgoing correspondence to parents and students to educate them on what information is required for FAFSA completion (Verification documents, example: low income, independent status, household size, W-2's, etc.).
  •  Provide correspondence with EduKan personnel to get weekly grades for SCCC high school students. This includes follow-up emails to high school counselors and other correspondence as needed.
  • Gathers and evaluates all required government paperwork for the incoming FAFSAs from parents and students, including the monitoring of online form submissions. Contact EduKan Students and answer questions about pre-requisites, credit hours, etc., and connect students with an academic advisor.
  • Performs secretarial duties including correspondence for supervisor, and travel arrangements/ appointments, preparation of requisitions and invoices. This includes answering and routing calls to appropriate personnel, return calls, prepare files, filing, and other office duties as needed.
  •  Assists with the college payroll and federal work study program by auditing student work hours in Timeclock Plus.
  •  Provides educational programming pertaining to financial aid with all first-year seminar classes.
  •  A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
  • Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature.
  • Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or Seward County Community College.

 

Salary/Benefits

Salary Range:  Hourly, commensurate to education and experience

Selection Process

The search committee will conduct all minimum qualification appraisals as set forth on the position announcement and job description and reserve the right to limit the number of interviews granted.  Meeting the minimum qualifications for a position does not assure the applicant an interview.  Applicants selected for an interview will be notified of the time and place of the interview.  Interviews are usually conducted on campus by the search committee.  Additional interviews and/or teaching demonstrations may be required.
