Responsible for dissemination of news media pertaining to the promotion and performance of the athletic department and information reflecting the college which include but are not limited to providing statistics, team and player notes and information, management and oversite of the athletic website and program media guides, newsletters, and social media. 

Additional to managing sports information this position will assist the Director of Athletics with travel arrangements, event operations management, supervision of athletic department personnel, and other athletic administration duties.


Bachelor's degree in sports communication, journalism, public relations, sports administrations or related field required. Two to five years of experience in media communications, editing, or sports reporting in collegiate athletics or similar or related experience. 

Essential Functions

  • Provide leadership and supervisory support to Director of Athletics in all day-to-day operations including but not limited to filing in for Director of Athletics in their absence and also attending NJCAA meetings and other athletic related functions if the Director is unavailable. 
  • Writes and edits athletic department news releases and updates.
  • Publicizes athletic department events and programs by coordinating efforts with the respective coaches, Director of Athletics, and SCCC Executive Director of Marketing and Public Relations.
  • Create graphics & content for athletics website, scoreboards, and college sports network broadcasts.
  • Designs, implements and manages the Athletic web site and other web-based functions including statistics.
  • Sell advertising for athletic department media guides, score tables, and videoboard while assisting with game buyout management and oversight.
